The reason I love biblical fiction so much is because I am learning all over again about his love. His presence had been in many of the books I have read.
This is a good writer who took a story and twisted it into to much of a fairytale.
His presence is no where in this book, it would be the opposite.
If your looking for a uplifting story you will not find it here.
Underneath the small part of a biblical story, is a story more geared to lust.
I was shocked at how ridiculous and filthy this book was. There would have been virtually zero content if you removed all of the sex from the book. She took an incredible woman and turned her and her husband into sexual deviants, her and Barak into adulterers and vividly described each sexual encounter in graphic terms. I can see showing the human side of great women/men of God, but she took this way to far. It was written to arouse the reader like any other Harlequin novel, I just wish she hadn't used an incredible women devoted to God to base her story on.
I chose this rating because I found the book very interesting.
I I am doing a study on Deborah, and this was one of the books.
I cried a lot, and it was easy to be there as part of what was happening at the time
